# Purchase a DID on VoIP Innovations Platform

Before placing or receiving calls, you must have at least one active DID (Direct Inward Dialing number) associated with your VoIP Innovations account.

> If you already have one or more active DIDs on your VoIP Innovations account, you can skip this section and proceed to trunk configuration.

### Steps to Purchase a DID

1. Log in to your **VoIP Innovations account**.
2. Navigate to **DIDs > Purchase DIDs**.
3. Select the **type of number** you want to purchase (for example, local or toll-free).
4. Configure the **number details** as prompted.
   * A new window will appear, allowing you to specify options related to the selected number type.
5. Click **View DID Results** to display a list of available numbers based on your criteria.
6. Review the results and **select the DID(s)** you want to purchase.
7. Click **Buy DIDs Now** to complete the purchase.

#### Expected Result

* The selected DID numbers are added to your VoIP Innovations account and become available for trunk configuration.
